The East Rutherford Fire Department is proud to announce the delivery of its new fleet. The Fire Department’s new fleet manufactured by the Sutphen Corporation of Ohio, includes two 1,750gpm engine companies, as well as a 100’ tower ladder, and a 75’ quint-style engine. The fleet replacement comes after a long process of researching past, present, and future maintenance costs, as well as projected replacement costs over the next 10 years. The findings determined a replacement program along with resale of the old equipment would be more cost efficient to the Borough of East Rutherford.
In addition to being cost efficient, the new fire apparatus will provide firefighters with state-of-the-art equipment and technology, as well as standardized vehicles which will improve operations efficiency and provide additional safety measures.
On top of cost savings and operation effectiveness, the new vehicles are also more environmentally friendly, equipped with engines and pumps that have increased fuel efficiency and lower vehicle emissions.
