Detective Bureau

About Us

The Detective Bureau is primarily responsible for conducting all follow up investigations for reports of criminal activity throughout the borough. These reports range from quality of life offenses, simple thefts, disorderly persons offenses to major crimes. Detectives are also trained in crime scene processing including and evidence collection. The Detective Bureau also has 2 detectives specially trained in maintaining and managing our state of the art Evidence Storage Vault. The Detective Bureau also conducts various background investigations, firearms licensing investigations and crime prevention programs throughout the borough. Non-criminal justice fingerprinting is conducted by the Detective Bureau by appointment only, please dial (201) 438-0168 to make an appointment.

The Detective Bureau also works with other federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies sharing information that may enhance and assist other regional investigations regularly.

Assigned to the Detective Bureau is a Juvenile Detective who is responsible for conducting or coordinating investigations of any acts of juvenile delinquency, serve as a constant liaison to our schools, managing our School Resource Officer and L.E.A.D programs.
