Recycling Yard
As a convenience to the residents of East Rutherford, the DPW has a drop off facility located at 2 Maple Street where various types of recyclable items can be dropped off. This is often a convenient option for residents, especially if they need to dispose of recyclable items before their next scheduled street pickup.
Unfortunately, due to excessive illegal dumping of various items in the DPW recycling yard and surrounding private businesses, the yard will no longer be accessible after hours however starting March 4th, 2023 will be open on Saturdays from 12 noon to 2PM.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and steps are being taken to identify and prosecute illegal dumpers. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Department of Public Works at (201) 933-3444 Ext. 277.
